The retreat theme will be “The Fragmentation of the Self and the Prayer of the Heart” with guest speaker Rev. Father Christopher Zaferes from Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta, GA. More and more of our lives are spent in the digital world. There we are trained to consume without end. Yet the more we take in, the emptier we feel—our vision distorted and our identities fractured. Can we be made whole? How do we integrate? Might an inward turning gather what has been dispersed?
The United Hellenic Societies of California (UHAS) is proud to announce our most ambitious project yet: bringing the Evzones—Greece’s elite Presidential Guard—to San Francisco to help us celebrate Greek Independence Day 2026.
12 Noon Parade, 1 pm Greek Flag Raising
Help bring the Evzones to S.F. and witness tradition come to life here in the Bay Area.
Your donation makes this possible. Help us honor Greek heritage. Visit https://evzonesf.com/
